PLAINFIELD
– State Rep. Mark Batinick (R-Plainfield) announced his committee assignments
for the new 99th General Assembly today, including an appointment he
requested to the Special Committee on Veterans’ Affairs.
“Veterans
are number one to me,” said Rep. Batinick. “The men and women of our military
risk their lives each and every day so that we can enjoy our freedoms as
Americans. I am personally very grateful for their service and want to make
sure our veterans have everything they need.”
In
addition, Rep. Batinick has also been appointed to the House committees on
Insurance, Elementary & Secondary Education – School Curriculum &
Policy; Appropriations – Higher Education; Business/Occupational Licenses; and
the Special Committee on Business Growth & Incentives.
“As
a small business owner and father of five, education and business issues are
very important to me as well,” Rep. Batinick added. “Our priorities need to be
making state government less intrusive and more efficient in the services they
provide. I am eager to get to work on my committees so that together we can
begin to restore the strength and vitality of the Illinois economy, honor our
veterans and ensure our kids receive the best education on which to build their
future. ”
The Illinois House of Representatives is scheduled to reconvene on Wednesday, February 4, when Governor Bruce Rauner will address a joint session of the General Assembly to deliver his first “State of the State” Address.
